An officer with the Nipissing West OPP is the first presumptive positive case of COVID-19 on the provincial force.
The OPP says it was made aware of the diagnosis on Saturday.
“Following their doctor’s instructions, the member is in isolation at their home and is recovering. We wish them a speedy recovery. Their family and colleagues are in our thoughts,” says the OPP.
The officer’s identity is not being released to respect their privacy, according to the force.
OPP adds it is committed to the health and safety of its members and will continue to make decisions to limit the spread of COVID-19.
