A reported assault near Jocko Point Road on Highway 17 has resulted in charges against three people, according to the Nipissing West OPP.
Police say on Thursday, they received a call of an assault with a weapon just east of Jocko Point Road. The suspects had left the scene and were heading west towards West Nipissing on the highway. With the assistance of the North Bay and Anishinabek Police Service, a high-risk traffic stop took place, where the three were arrested.
A 36-year-old and 28-year-old from North Bay were both charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Break-In Instruments
The third, a 37-year-old, also from North Bay has been charged with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Break-In Instruments
All three have been released from custody. The 36 and 37-year-old will appear before court in North Bay on June 9, while the 28-year-old will face the charges on June 30.
