A travel trailer with no lights travelling on the Highway 11/17 bypass has opened up a bigger can of worms for a pair of London residents.
Officers of the North Bay OPP say they saw the vehicle and trailer travelling along the bypass with no lights and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking to the people in the vehicle, police say they started an investigation.
A search of the vehicle ended with officers finding multiple firearms and other assorted weapons being seized.
A 23-year-old was arrested and charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device (Butterfly knives)
- Possession of a Prohibited Device (Conducted Energy Weapon)
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance (three counts)
Meanwhile, the other occupant of the vehicle, a 20-year-old was charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Device (Butterfly knives)
- Possession of a Prohibited Device (Conducted Energy Weapon)
- Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
- 4 Charges under the Highway Traffic Act
The 23-year-old remains in custody and will appear before court in North Bay on Thursday. The 20-year-old was released with a court date in North Bay on June 16.
