NBPS: over $87,000 in drugs seized, three arrested

The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) say they have taken a large amount of drugs off the streets thanks to a recent investigation.

Officials say on Saturday they were looking into the distribution of illegal drugs in the area. The investigation led to the arrest of three people, including a North Bay resident, at the bus terminal on Station Street.

Around 6:40 p.m., police say they saw two people getting into a van with the third accused. When police moved in to make the arrest, the driver started to drive away, driving into an officer. NBPS was able to stop the vehicle and arrest the three inside.

Officials add the officer received medical attention for the injuries sustained when they were hit by the van but has been released from medical care.
