The third round of grants from the North Bay and Area Community Foundation’s (NBACF) COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund has been announced.
This round will see the Callander and District Food Bank, Salvation Army and the Near North Palliative Care Network each receive $2,000. Previous beneficiaries include the North Bay Food Bank, Gathering Place, Mattawa Food Bank and the West Nipissing Food Bank.
On Wednesday, NBACF also announced that the Margaret and Eric Thomson Children’s Foundation will be joining our COVID-19 relief efforts. They will be providing $5,000 in grants from their fund that will be split equally ($2,500) between the Mattawa Women’s Resource Centre and the Mattawa Food Bank.
Through these grants, the COVID-19 relief efforts from the foundation stand at $22,500.
NBACF, in partnership with the Rotary Club of North Bay, created the fund in March. Officials say as the fund continue to grow; grants will be allocated wherever the needs are most pressing.
