North Bay Police Service look for driver who failed to remain at scene

The North Bay Police Service is asking for information in relation to an early morning collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in which a suspect failed to remain at the scene.

Police say at around 1:10 a.m. this morning they responded to the reported collision at the intersection of Wyld and McIntyre Streets. The male victim was crossing McIntyre when he was hit by the car that was turning onto the street from Wyld. The driver, also a man, stopped, made a verbal exchange with the victim, then backed up and drove away on McIntyre.

Officers say the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver is described as a man in his late 40’s or 50’s with light grey hair. The car was described as an older model dark coloured mid-sized car.

Anyone with information that may assist with this investigation is asked to call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to a police officer. For those who wish to remain anonymous, contact Near North Crime Stoppers, by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by submitting a tip online.
