Another child care centre to open for frontline workers

Another emergency childcare centre has opened in the area.

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced the YMCA centre that runs out of Mother St. Bride has now opened for frontline workers. Fedeli says the opening of the centre ensures that frontline health care workers – doctors, nurses and paramedics, firefighters, police, and correctional officers – will be able to access safe, local emergency child care.

“During these challenging times, our Government is supporting our frontline workers with emergency childcare centres so they can rest assured, knowing their children are being looked after in a safe place,” said Fedeli.  “Our frontline workers will have access to safe, local child care centres, making it easier for health care and other frontline workers to do their jobs.”

Officials say the province is exempting certain childcare centres from closure. This centre joins the YMCA Woodland Learning Centre and Childcare Centre in North Bay, and the Fairview Early Learning and Child Care Centre in Powassan, as available centres.
