Col. Boyle leaving to command Iraq mission

The base commander of 22 Wing in North Bay is leaving for Iraq.  Colonel Sean Boyle will be the new commander of the Air Task Force.  The task force is Canada’s contribution to the Middle East stabilization force as various nations fight ISIS forces.  Boyle says it will be challenging and he and his people will be facing many unknowns.   Boyle will command about 350 people and part of the air arsenal under his wing includes F-18 jets and Auroras.   Boyle has trained extensively for the mission which includes working through simulated conflicts in fake countries.  He officially takes over command April 24th.  After his six month tour, Boyle expects he’ll be stationed in Ottawa.
