Skate park, along with some other public areas reopen

The Thomson Park skate park is open once again for those wishing to do their best Tony Hawk impression.

The park officially reopened on Tuesday.

City of North Bay officials says that playgrounds, including swings, the splash pad, and outdoor exercise equipment remain closed for the time being. The off-leash dog park at the end of Premier Road remains closed as well.

However, along with the skate park, the City has been slowly opening up more shared spaces. Officials say the washrooms located at the Lake Nipissing waterfront marina is now open. Preparations are being made to open up further public washroom facilities with public health consultation. City beaches are allowing walk-through access only.

Meanwhile, public sports fields have reopened for casual play. City officials say that group sports or gatherings of more than five people who are not part of the same house are still not allowed because of the provincial emergency orders.
