Local numbers stand at 27 positive, 23 resolved

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is announcing its 20th confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Nipissing District, and 27 throughout its whole coverage area.

Health unit officials are also reporting some good news as the number of resolved cases has jumped from 20 to 23. That number includes the 60-79-year-old who was hospitalized. All three of the remaining cases are self-isolating. There is only one death reported in the area as well.

On the long-term care home front, Eastholme has ended its COVID-19 outbreak. Both long-term care homes in the area who had declared an outbreak, Eastholme and Casselholme, have been cleared.

The health unit says there have been 6,544 tests conducted.

In a post on Facebook, North Bay Mayor Al McDonald says that North Bay is the second-lowest positive tests per capita (per 100,000) in Ontario.
