Trojan Parade for Cancer to march on

West Ferris Intermediate and Secondary School says COVID-19 can’t dampen their spirit.

School officials say the 27th annual “Trojan Parade for Cancer” will go on, with a few tweaks. The school is challenging current and past students to continue the walk between now and next Thursday. The call has also been made to Widdifield students who will attend West Ferris next year after the closure of the high school.

Officials say to let people know you are out walking and to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of the walk. Each day you walk, you are asked to record your distance and send a photo of it to the school’s Instagram page.

According to the school, over the previous 26 years, there has been over $250,000 raised for cancer research. That includes a school-record of $30,000 from last year.
