The president of the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities is applauding a decision by the Wynne Liberals over an energy policy. Al Spacek says the Liberals are making an electricity rate rebate program for large northern companies permanent. Spacek says this will help several industrial sectors across the north like mining and forestry. FONOM has learned the Liberals plan to make the program permanent in the upcoming budget. For large energy users it means getting a rebate of up to $20-million annually.
