North Bay Police Service says a father-son dispute has led to charges for a 32-year-old man.
Police say just after 9:00 p.m. Friday, the dispute started as a verbal argument inside their home on Algonquin Avenue. The argument turned physical and the accused got a sword from his bedroom and struck the victim in the face with it. The injuries required medical attention.
Officials say when officers arrived; the accused had left the home but was found shortly after and arrested. As a result, he has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon.
Police say the accused has been released after a bail hearing and will answer to his charges before court in North Bay on August 18.
