North Bay Police Service says a company performing tests is the reason for wires on bike trails off of Ski Club and Johnston Roads.
In a tweet, police said they were concerned for persons travelling on the bike trails. Wires had been strung at mid-height level.
Officials say after inquiring, they found that a company had been performing integrity on the pipeline to ensure safety effectiveness. As part of the testing, a communication line is put up in places at waist level. The wires are not made for strength and used specifically for the testing.
Police say the company has worked with officers to remove all the wires.
