The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is reporting three COVID-19 outbreaks at long term care homes in its area.
On Friday, Health unit officials said one staff member at North Bay’s Water’s Edge and 2 staffers at the Belvedere Heights in Parry Sound tested positive and all are currently in isolation.
No residents at either location are positive for COVID-19.
“Our staff is working with Water’s Edge and Belvedere Heights to provide important public health direction,” said Dr. Jim Chirico Medical Officer of Health. “We know that older individuals are vulnerable, and it is important that we do our best to keep this population safe.”
The numbers currently stand at 35 positive, 29 resolved and one death.
There have been over 14-thousand six hundred tests to this point.
