The North Bay OPP charge 24th impaired driver

On July 15 at approximately 1:30am, north bay OPP were conducting a RIDE spot check on the North Bay by-pass.

A vehicle approached and then made a u-turn before it reached officers. The OPP followed and found the vehicle located in a parking lot.

After speaking with the driver, officers arrested the driver for impaired driving.

He was then brought to the North Bay OPP for further testing.

As a result, a 34-year-old North Bay man was charged with the following:

Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) and

Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC.

The accused was released on an appearance notice to attend North Bay Court on Sept. 8, 2020.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver’s license was subject to a 90-day suspension.

The North Bay OPP wants to remind citizens that if they suspect someone is driving, or about to drive impaired by alcohol or drugs, it is important to call 9-1-1 and report it.
