Water meter vote on rates to be held again

Depending on your point of view, North Bay councillor Mike Anthony can be the king maker or spoiler over water rates.  A vote to set the rates at council Monday night ended in a five-five tie meaning it was defeated.  However Daryl Vaillancourt who proposed a 40 percent fixed rate and 60 percent variable, called for a Motion for Reconsideration.  That means the issue comes up again April 27th when Anthony is back and Vaillancourt says in the past Anthony has supported his 40-60 split.  Staff meanwhile is recommending a 60-40 fixed-variable split.
