Nipissing West OPP is searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run involving a car and a bicycle.
On July 20, police were alerted to the intersection of Salter St. and Main St. in Sturgeon Falls for a vehicle that did not remain at the scene of a collision.
The police investigation says that the collision happened shortly before 8 pm when a cyclist and car both stopped at the intersection. Police say the cyclist made eye contact with the driver of the vehicle before crossing but was then struck.
The vehicle then fled the scene going eastbound onto Railway St. The cyclist was not injured in the collision.
Police describe the car as a dark red/burgundy sedan being driven by a dark-haired, white woman between 45 and 50 years of age.
