MPP thanking local businesses

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is on a congratulatory tour of his riding, handing out recognitions to businesses that have stepped up during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Monday, Fedeli visited North Bay Plastic Molders and presented the business with a certificate of congratulations. The company had just moved into a new facility and is preparing to manufacture face shields to send around the world.

The Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade says that he wants to recognize the efforts of those who have adapted to the pandemic.

“Companies who have switched over, re-tooled, or entered the manufacturing of personal protective equipment or something to do with the manufacturing and delivery of COVID-related goods and services,” Fedeli explained of his criteria for his recognitions.

Fedeli says he also plans to visit the Original Bug Shirt in Powassan, New Ontario Brewing, Lavigne’s Canvas, Hillcrest Cabinets, Nor-Environmental and Express Parcel in the coming days now that the Ontario Legislature has let out until September.

The MPP says that the amount of businesses and companies which have stepped up showcases the spirit of his riding.

“This is the spirit of Ontario. These are the ones that really showed the business community what they’re all about because they stepped up and delivered,” he praised.

Fedeli is also hoping that the actions of the businesses which he’s recognizing will inspire others in the area to follow suit.
