28th impaired driver charged

North Bay OPP has charged a 55-year-old man with multiple offences, including impaired driving.

Early on the morning of July 29, officers stopped a vehicle on Pinewood Park Dr. in North Bay. After an investigation, police determined the driver was impaired and was in possession of drugs suspected to be cocaine.

The Temiskaming, Quebec man faces the following charges:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA), and
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC

The driver’s vehicle has been impounded for seven days while also facing a 90-day license suspension.

This marks the 28th driver the North Bay OPP has charged with impaired this year.
