Increases to North Bay Transit Passenger Limit

25 people are now allowed to ride on the bus at a time, up from 15.

The change came over the weekend and was influenced by face coverings being mandatory in the area.

A passenger limit is being maintained on City busses based on advice from the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.

City of North Bay’s Communication Officer, Gord Young, says that “Transit ridership has increased since the early days of the pandemic, and is nearing 50 percent of our usual numbers. We are continuing to monitor ridership and will be making adjustments based on demand; and will be continuing to rely on the direction and advice of our partners at public health when it comes to measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

North Bay Transit encourages riders to continue to wash their hands regularly or use hand sanitizer and to leave space between passengers when possible.
