Police searching for vehicle after collision with building

The North Bay Police Service is looking for a vehicle that fled the scene after a high-speed collision with a building.

Police say that the vehicle drove into a building on the corner of O’Brien St. near the Highway 11/17 bypass.

Constable John Schultz, Community Safety Coordinator for North Bay Police says that officers believe the vehicle was driving at a significant speed when it hit the building. He adds that the building did experience some damage, including a crack on its outside wall.

Emergency crews initially responded to the call at 4:30 Tuesday morning of what was reported as an explosion. An investigation determined that the reported explosion was, in fact, the vehicle collision.

Schultz says that there is no description of the vehicle because officers could not find any debris, paint scuffs, or other indicators that could help determine the vehicle’s make.

He is urging any businesses or people who have video footage of the area at the time to come forward to police to help the investigation.
