A Canadian star will grace the stage during the Virtual North Bay PRIDE celebration in September.
Bif Naked, who has toured the world, country, and has been releasing music since the mid-’90s will be in North Bay for a live performance and interview.
Virtual North Bay Pride’s Media Coordinator Jason Maclennan says that he and his team are super excited about having her as the feature act for Saturday’s concert.
“The show will be live-streamed through our Facebook and we want it to be really good. We got the proper cameras, proper sound equipment and want it to go well; both Friday’s talent show, and then Saturday’s show which will see Mackenzie Drive, a North Bay band opening for Bif Naked.”
“It is like a dream come true,” said members of McKenzie Drive. “Artists who are starting out struggle to get known and get on stage. North Bay Pride has given me an opportunity to grow as an artist and enjoy the wonderful community we have. To open for Bif Naked is truly an honour as she is an amazing artist and advocate for our community.”
Maclennan says that sometimes as a smaller pride event it’s difficult to get sponsors or attracting big talent – but Bif Naked responded within 48 hours that she would join the event and travel to North Bay.
“A true artist and advocate for social justice recognized the importance of a smaller pride in Northern Ontario, and that is exciting. We are so excited to see Bif Naked in our city and share themselves on North Bay Pride Facebook Live!” finished Maclennan
Virtual Pride North Bay will take place on September 18-20.
