Traffic stop leads to drug seizure

Suspected cocaine and crystal meth are now off the streets thanks to the North Bay Police Service.

The NBPS is reporting that on Aug. 17 a traffic stop was conducted on Second Avenue in North Bay. The driver of the vehicle was not properly licensed and the police investigated further.

Both driver and passenger were arrested and a search resulted in the seizure of suspected drugs including 80 grams of suspected cocaine as well as 1.8 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Police also seized $1,840 and a set of digital scales.

 

As a result, a 38-North-Bay man was charged with:

Two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking;

One Count of Possession of a Substance;

One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime; and

One Count of Driving Under Suspension.

 

A 48-year-old North Bay woman was also charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

 

 Both accused persons were later released from police custody and will appear in a North Bay Courtroom on October 20th, 2020
