22nd annual Osprey Links Charity Golf Gala another success

The 22nd annual Osprey Links Charity Golf Gala has raised $34,500 for the Cancer Care Close to Home campaign.

The campaign is a North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) Foundation initiative.

Over the past 22 years, the gala has raised more than $400,000 toward the community’s medical equipment needs at the NBRHC.

Honorary Tournament Co-Chair, Michael Harris, former Premier of Ontario, opened the tournament with a ceremony on the putting green. “Under the most unusual circumstances of a pandemic, we are reminded of the incredible importance of our hospital, healthcare workers and frontline workers. This year’s tournament may look and feel a little different than year’s past, but one thing remains constant, we are proud to be supporting our hospital and the care of the people in our community,” he said.

Tammy Morison, President & CEO, NBRHC Foundation thanked the golfers, sponsors, and volunteers who made the tournament successful during untraditional circumstances. “We are thankful that so many of our loyal participants were able to join us for the tournament – at a safe distance. Healthcare is truly a partnership between the government, hospital, and community.  Together we can ensure our community has access to advanced medical equipment and the care they need,” said Morison.

Barbara Minogue thanked the participants for supporting the tournament and for continuing the longstanding tradition of friendship, comraderie, and a round of golf for a community cause. “My late husband Peter and I found great satisfaction in rallying our community for impactful charities that serve our friends, families, and loved ones. Our hospital has always been one of our top priorities,’ she shared.
