OPP charges 31st impaired driver

North Bay OPP has charged their 31st impaired driver.

On Aug. 23 shortly after midnight, the OPP held a RIDE spot check on Lake Nosbonsing Rd. in East Ferris.

After speaking with the driver officers detected an alcohol order and conducted roadside tests which resulted in a fail. The 20-year-old from Thorold, Ontario was then arrested and brought back to the detachment for further testing.

He was released and scheduled to appear in North Bay court on October 27.

The vehicle, which belonged to a friend, was impounded for seven days and the driver’s licence was subject to a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS).
