Two more charged in early-August break and enter

Two more people have been charged in connection with a break and enter which happened in Powassan earlier this month.

On August 6, officers responded to a break and enter at a home on Weiler Line in Powassan. Numerous tools and solar panels were stolen, resulting in police arresting one person on August 9.

On August 19, police executed a search warrant at a storage unit in North Bay, finding the stolen items from the incident in Powassan, along with other stolen goods.

The investigation has led to a 36-year old North Bay woman being charged with:

  • Break and Enter into a Dwelling House contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the CC;
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 355(b) of the CC;
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments contrary to section 351(1) of the CC; and
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC.

A 37-year-old North Bay man is also being charged with:

  • Break and Enter into a Dwelling House contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the CC;
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 355(b) of the CC; and
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC.

The two are scheduled to appear in court on September 3.
