Wildlife crashes a concern on area highways…

There’s been a jump in the number of wildlife related crashes on area highways.

The North Bay Ontario Provincial Police detachment responded to nine crashes, seven of those involving wildlife just last week.

Drivers are reminded to be extra alert especially during the hours of 8 PM and midnight, and between 5 and 7 AM. That’s when most of the wildlife related crashes happen.

They also remind people to never swerve suddenly if you see wildlife on the road, because it could result in an even worse collision.
