No tryouts for AAA North Bay Trappers

The AAA North Bay Trappers Hockey Association has announced that it will not be holding tryouts for its teams this fall.

The association sent out a release stating that it cannot form any AAA teams until the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) and the Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) are cleared to move into the next stage of their own return-to-play guidelines.

The OHF’s guidelines state that they must follow suit with provincial and local public health protocols before deciding to move on to their next stage.

Right now, Ontario allows for up to 50 people indoors, with non-contact sports allowed to resume so long as health protocols are being followed.

The Trappers opened registration for its programs a few weeks ago in order to gauge interest from players this year.

The Trappers’ release concludes: “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our players and parents and we look forward to the opportunity to operate our teams and return to the ice in the future.”
