Section of Main St. closed for September

A section of Main St. West between Gormanville Rd. and Nipissing St. will be closed until the end of September for the construction of the West Link pathway.

The project includes two-way sections of multi-use pathway separated from the road by a curb, as well as a section of bike lanes which will connect Gormanville Rd.to the Main St. West intersection and link up with the west end of the Kate Pace Way on Memorial Drive. Pedestrian crossing will also be included near Timmins St.

During the construction, traffic will be detoured away from Main St. via Gormanville Rd., Jane St., and Nipissing St.

The West Link Pathway is a project that will link the north and south ends of North Bay’s active transportation routes. The project is being supported by $377,000 in funding through the Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling Program.
