New noise contours coming to airport

North Bay council will be limiting residential development close to the Jack Garland Airport.  It’s so the airport can continue to grow and remain an economic driver for the community.  As a result, no homes will be allowed within a certain range of the airport because of the noise planes and helicopters generate.  However not affected by this decision are homes in the Carmichael and Tower Road areas.  Council will amend its Official Plan to increase the allowable noise boundary and review this proposed change every five years.
