North Bay OPP has charged two people with drug trafficking offences after $2,000 worth of suspected crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl was seized during a traffic stop.
Officers stopped the vehicle on Thursday on Highway 11 in the Municipality of Callander. Police arrested the driver of the vehicle with impaired driving.
The 36-year-old driver from Armour Township is being charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
The driver was released on an Undertaking with a date to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on November 10, 2020.
The 37-year-old passenger from Machar Township is being charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
The passenger was held pending bail and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on September 14, 2020
