The Powassan Voodoos continue their offseason of adding local products, signing Callander-native Cameron Lemcke.
The 17-year-old forward scored 23 goals and 20 assists over 38 games last season with the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves of the Great North Midget League last season, earning all-star honours in the process.
Lemcke also suited up for the Voodoos last year, notching two goals in six games.
The 6’2, 180 lbs Lemcke is excited to be joining the NOJHL club full-time.
“I want to play with the Voodoos because I heard it was a very great organization and I get to play with a lot of great players,” said Lemcke. “I know this team will push me to the best of my abilities.”
Voodoos GM Chris Dawson got a good taste of what Lemcke could do in his brief stint with the team last year.
“We like his size, and despite being an affiliate player, he was not intimidated at all. We like his net drive and we welcome his size to our forward group,” noted Dawson.
The Voodoos are still waiting for direction from the NOJHL, OHF, NOHA, and the CJHL as to when the new season will start.
