Police seize over $61,000 in suspected drugs

A 46-year-old North Bay man is facing four counts of possession with the purpose of trafficking in addition to two other charges after North Bay police have seized over $61,000 dollars worth of suspected drugs. Officers executed a search warrant at a Martin Street home Thursday afternoon.

The police investigation resulted in the arrest of the man who is being charged with:

  • Four Counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking;
  • One Count of Possession of Proceeds Property Obtained by Crime; and
  • One Count of Possession Prohibited Weapon

Officers seized:

  • 455.4 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 617 suspected methamphetamine tablets
  • 27.6 grams of suspected psilocybin
  • 20 suspected Percocet tablets
  • 3.9 grams of suspected hash
  • $3705.00 in Canadian currency
  • Scales
  • Packaging Material
  • A prohibited knife

The total estimated street value of the drugs is $61,438, which Constable John Schultz says is “better than average.”

The man has been released from police custody and will be in North Bay court on November 10

Police say they got the search warrant through its Street Crime Unit working with the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau of the OPP.

Schultz wants to urge the public to speak up if they see something suspicious.
