National Day of Mourning…

A Ceremony for Canada’s National Day of Mourning will take place at 10:45 this morning at North Bay City Hall. April 28th is a day to remember those whose lives were lost because something happened in their workplace.

A proclamation will be delivered by Mayor Al McDonald. According to statistics, last year the families of 389 filed death claims in Canada, and more than 238,373 workers, filed occupational injury and disease claims.

The National Day of Mourning is now recognized in more than 100 countries around the world. Day of Mourning events will take place in more than 40 Ontario communities.
