Packed grand opening at the North Bay Food Bank…

The North Bay Food Bank serves up to 14-hundred people in our community every single month. Yesterday was the grand opening of their brand new facility on Fisher and Princess Street.

There were multiple reasons for the move. Their old home on Hammond Street was too small, and not in the most ideal location for clients to access. The large building was also paid for outright, which means the Food Bank has an additional 35-hundred dollars of rent money to purchase food for their clients instead.

A donation of 50-thousand dollars was made by Mark and Steven Deacon to help revamp the new facility. The building is also named the Martinello House, after Food Bank founder Marty Martinello.
