The city’s building permit numbers continue to outpace what they were last year. North Bay is at a construction value total of over 17-million dollars, compared to 10-million at the same time last year, and there are still some potential projects in the works.
Mayor Al McDonald says these numbers set the stage for further development throughout the year.
To encourage construction, council has eliminated development charges on houses less than 12-hundred square feet, and reduced charges by 30 per cent on homes between 12-hundred and 15-hundred square feet.
