Midland Police Service has adopted a safe exchange policy for people who purchase things online.
People that buy or sell something on a website such as Kijiji are invited to exchange items in the Midland Police parking lot. The initiative is to help prevent theft and fraud because people know they are under the watchful eye of police and security cameras.
Now North Bay Police are looking into a similar policy. Police Chief Paul Cook tweeted the Moose this morning saying that their command staff would be discussing the initiative.
