Water meter rates up for vote again at city council…

City council will once again vote on water meter rates tonight. They’ll decide whether to accept the staff recommendation of a 60-fixed-and-40-variable split.

Also on the docket is a proposal from the Multicultural Centre’s Don Curry, who will make a presentation on allowing permanent residents who don’t have Canadian citizenship to vote in municipal elections.

Finally council will discuss whether to allow a Wyld Street restaurant to have a patio on the sidewalk. Mayor Al McDonald says they will be looking at the Downtown Improvement Area board for answers on whether something like this would be plausible in the city’s downtown.
