Public presentation tonight by residents of Ashdale….

A public presentation is scheduled for city council tonight on a new bus route travelling down Ashdale Crescent. Residents on the street are upset that there was little notice, saying that road is too narrow for walkers and a bus to travel down. The bus was rerouted down Ashdale Crescent last week after complaints from residents of Labreche Drive.

Despite the controversy, the route is running as planned today. Mayor Al McDonald says they will listen to their concerns and attempt to find an alternative for the near future.

Meanwhile… North Bay council will also hear a report from the city`s financial services department on the transition plan for water meter billing. After months of debate, politicians decided on a 60 per cent fixed and 40 per cent variable rate for the new billing system early in May. They also agreed that the meters will become active in September.
