Members of the North Bay, Powassan, and Mattawa OPP have investigated numerous cottage break-ins over the last couple of months. They are now offering tips to cottage owners to help make sure they are not a victim. They encourage cottagers to take valuables out of their home, or lock them in a secure cabin. Police also ask that you do not leave liquor in your cottage, because it’s one of the most common items taken. Finally, do not leave boats, ATV’s or other vehicles out in the open for potential thefts to scout.
