Nipissing University’s annual budget has been approved. They are looking at 72-million dollars in expenses, with a revenue of 67-million. That puts them at a projected deficit of just over 5-million this year.
They hope to increase revenue in coming years through recruitment, expanding programs, and implementing a 3-per cent tuition rate increase. There will be new faculty positions as well, in Nursing, Business and Criminal Justice.
The university will also be ramping up international recruitment. They have a goal of slowly rising enrolment from 50 to around 500 international students over a few years.
