North Bay Police officers say that a shoe found in a marsh off Highway 11 South might have contained human remains.
Over the weekend, biology students from a university were doing research in the marsh north of the Lakeshore Drive turnoff when they discovered the shoe. The students reported it to police immediately, who went to the site to investigate.
Police have now called the Coroner’s office to assist in the investigation. The bones found in the shoe are being tested to see whether they are human remains.
