West Nipissing raises big bucks for Lavigne family

Just more than $27,000 was raised for the Seguin family of Lavigne whose three kids were hit by a pick-up truck last month in North Bay.  The original target was $15,000.  The Sturgeon Falls fundraiser featured a concert and auction and the auction brought in $7,600.  That includes two tickets to play a charity golf game in Calgary with the NHL Sutters that went for $1,500.  During the event Dan Seguin, the father of the three children made an appearance along with two of his children and he thanked the huge crowd of 450 people.  The Seguin will use the money for travel and medical expenses for the children.   Also students at St. Joseph Scollard Hall in North Bay helped the Seguin family.  Through a series of small events, the students raised $900 and gave the money to a family representative last Friday.
