Most anglers following fishing regulations in the northeast…

The Ministry of Natural Resources says most anglers are following provincial and federal regulations in the northeast.

They just finished up a three week blitz for the opening of walleye season. Of 32-hundred people checked, 232 charges were laid.Some of the charges included fishing without a license, catching too many fish, and drinking on the boat.

In total, 119 walleye were seized during the three week blitz. Officers also used this opportunity to educate anglers on small boat regulations and invasive species.
