Northern Ontarians feel the most impact from hospital cut backs, according to new report…

A new report released by the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions says that citizens in Northern Ontario are feeling the impact of hospital cut backs more than other areas of the province.

They say this is because people in Northern Ontario have worse mental health outcomes and have higher rates of some cancers and chronic medical conditions.

The “Pushed Out of Northern Hospitals” report calls on immediate action from the provincial government to adequately fund hospitals, stop the closure of acute care beds, and put an end to the privatization of hospital surgeries.
