Ontario Northland has secured new contract work.
The company will be doing locomotive maintenance and engine rebuilds for a local railway company, and repairs on several lumber, ore, and box cars. The new work means that some laid off rail car mechanics will be called back into work.
The exact number of recalled employees has not been released. John Thib, Vice President of Ontario Northland, said in a statement that is he very proud of the company’s reputation for quality work and ability to attract new business.
