The North Bay Police Service is sponsoring a post traumatic stress disorder service dog.
Puppy “Keats” is a 13-week old German Shepherd and is named in honour of Constable Andrew Keating. The sponsorship is thanks to joint donations and fundraising efforts that are currently underway at the police service.
Once “Keats” is fully trained as a PTSD service dog, the organization United By Trauma will select a home for him. He could be placed in a home with an emergency services staff member from North Bay, or elsewhere in the province.
