The person who died in a two-vehicle collision Thursday on Highway 69 was from Elliot Lake. OPP have identified the victim as 72-year-old Walter Blight.
Blight was southbound in his van when he crossed the centre line and crashed head on into a tractor trailer. He died at the scene while the driver of the rig received minor injuries.
The highway was closed for nine hours while Sudbury OPP investigated the collision. The collision took place in a construction zone of the highway.
