Councillor Mike Anthony wants the Competition Bureau to investigate North Bay gas prices…

If you are wondering why gas prices always seem high in North Bay, you are not alone. Someone has written a formal complaint to city council, and now Mike Anthony wants to do something about it.

The Councillor will be filing a motion on Monday to have local gas prices investigated by the Competition Bureau. He says that a similar investigation in Kingston/Brockville uncovered price fixing, and three gas stations were fined $2-million back in 2007.

Right now gas prices are posted at around a 127 at most of the major stations in North Bay. The provincial average sits at around 117.
